Memorial Day

Over memorial day weekend we took our first out of town trip with Nathan. He did pretty good in the car and slept most of the way. It was quite an experience to pack for a new born and load the car up with all of his things, our things and two dogs for a 7 hour trip. Here are some pictures we took at the Haymore ranch.

Nathan is here!

Our little boy made is way into the world early Tuesday morning April 13, 2010.

Introducing Nathan Daniel Haymore, weighing in at just shy of 9 lbs...

8 lbs 15 oz 20 1/2 inches long born at 12:39 am.

We checked in to the hospital at 7:30 sunday night April 11 to be induced. They gave me a medication called Cervadil to help me dialate, I had some contractions through out the night.

Monday morning April 12 they started the pitocin. By about 3 pm that afternoon the nurse checked and I was about 3 centemeters dialated, they increased the pitocin and broke my water. The contractions got worse and I asked for the epidural. I wont get into details but it didn't go as smoothly as we would have liked. By 10 pm that night I had only progressed to a 4 and I was in a lot of pain because my epidural hadn't been placed incorrectly. Over the next hour or so they replaced my epidural and called the Dr. I was at the max pitocin I could have and wasn't progressing so he felt it was best to just do a c-section. So our little man was born at 12:39 Tuesday morning via c-section. He did great through out the entire process, he was never in distress and tolerated the labor well he was just too big to fit. But he is perfect.

We spent the next few days in the hospital where mom got very little sleep. We came home Friday morning April 16th.

He wasn't real pleased with the carseat but once we got going he slept the whole time.

We love being home with him. We are all finally getting some rest and enjoying each other.

Baby Update

Well we only have a few weeks left before our little boy arrives. We are both super excited and can't wait to meet him. At my last ultrasound on Tuesday they estimated that baby Nathan is 6 lbs 14 oz and everything looks good. My Dr said that with my Gestational Diabetes he wont let me go past my due date. So if I haven't delivered by 39 weeks he will induce me sometime that week. So we'll see what happens.

It's hard to believe that its almost April already and the baby will be here soon. We only have a few more items on the 'to do list' and we are pretty much done! My awesome husband finished the nursery yesterday. It turned out really cute!

We also had a baby shower up in Utah with our friends and family. I don't have all of the pictures yet but here are a few. Enough to see how big I was then and some of the cute gifts we received.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us in preparing for our new arrival. We are very grateful for your generosity.

In other news we were recently released from our calling at church as Nursery Leaders. We really enjoyed our time in the Nursery. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun with the kids.

Baby Nathan's Sneak Peek Pictures

Today Neal and I went to get 3D ultrasounds of the baby. He was very cooperative and moved a lot! He's head down and folded in half. Not much room left in there. He was playing with his hands and feet and then started kicking me. Near the end he got hiccups. It was really cute.
He has the cutest chubby cheeks. Looks like he'll be a big guy. The tech said she thought he looks about 5lbs now... at 31 weeks tomorrow he still has some growing to do too!
And how's mom doing? So far so good. A couple weeks ago I failed my glucose tolerance tests the 1 hour and the 3 hour. I have to do a diabetic diet but so far my sugars have been controlled. They will be checking my blood sugar levels at all of my appointments but so far they have been right where they want them. So aside from the sugar issues, some back pain and swollen feet I can't complain.
Projects around the house and nursery are coming along. Baby's room is just about finished. We had the first of two baby shower's last Saturday, hosted by my mom here in Las Vegas. Next one is up in Utah hosted by Neal's mom. Both of the grandma's are excited to meet this little guy. We are too!

29 weeks and counting

Well I'm 29 weeks along now. Where has the time gone? It seems we have not very many weeks left and lots still left to do. The nursery is coming along, we still have a lot left to organize though. We have been very blessed by family and friends that have given us baby items that we need. We're getting ready for the baby showers this month and looking forward to seeing family and friends that we haven't seen in a while.

Baby Nathan is growing well. Everyone tells me how big I am getting... yes I know. At the last ultrasound in January he was 2 lbs. We'll post some new pictures soon I promise!

December again...

Well its almost December again where has the year gone?
November was pretty eventful for us we found out that we are expecting a little boy! Seems like everyone guessed a boy except for me. We are super excited. We have the crib put together and we're working on clearing out the rest of his room. I can't wait to get it all decorated and see him in it.

We had a pretty quiet thanksgiving. Both Neal and I had the flu that week. We had my mom and brother and sister over for dinner. I am very grateful for my mom, she took care of everything so I could rest!

We are looking forward to Christmas. We have the decorations and stockings up and the tree is all decorated. For Christmas we will be traveling to Utah to spend time with family. Its hard to believe that this time next year we will have a little one of our own to play Santa for.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.
Merry Christmas.
